Donald Trump Spanked Me

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

That was the most interesting way I could verbalize the fact that I have been fired from my job after TEN YEARS. I just pictured Donald Trump saying "you're fired" and then running after me with a large paddle.

Gross.

Anyways... I guess I should say "laid off" but the above was more interesting.

Unfortunately, I did not get the position I interviewed for last week (I had mentioned that I'd keep ya'll updated on the status). That's ok though... there are a HUGE list of pros and a very small list of cons in my life right now, so I know that technically I'm very lucky, very blessed, and any other way you could want to verbalize that I should not be moping around feeling sorry for myself.

The good thing is that some of our ducks lined up in a nice little row and we should be ok for a little bit while I search for something else... and that I no longer have to deal with the toxicity that came with the position I had in that company.

I'm going to try and start my own cleaning service (I'm great at cleaning other people's houses, even though I royally suck at cleaning my own) and Russell has been getting more and more side jobs doing his handyman/household repair thing... so I know we're going to be ok!

I'm actually pretty happy right now, is that weird?

Not weird at all! Change, even a forced change that wasn't the most welcome thing in the world, gets us motivated and gives us hope for better! Ride the wave and good luck :)

I'm sorry you got laid-off but I know that there are good things for you in the days to come! I just know it! Keep your chin up!

I know someone in your same position right now. She says it is a strange feeling not working and she is actively looking for work, but she is feeling good about everything right now. I think that is a great way to be and you are lucky that you are able to feel this way. Good luck!

Good luck! I have to admit that your photo of The Donald scared me a bit!

Sorry to hear you got laid-off. Wish you luck with your plans and getting a new job. I too has been hunting for a job after being out of work for almost 6 years.

Hello, I am stopping by from SITS. I love your sense of humor lol and the whole "you are fired" Donald Trump photo! It's a good way to get some stress out for sure (and to give us a laugh)!

I hope that the house cleaning thing gets up and running for you. My sister does that and does pretty well for herself.

Blessings,
Lucie

Sounds like you didn't much enjoy that job anyway. Maybe God has something better for you!

Congrats on your SITS day!

I cringed when I read this! It hit me so close to home, I too was recently fired and I feel so much better than I did when I was working in a toxic environment. I was downsized at my job before that because (quote) "I need to pay myself your paycheck" Toxic jobs suck and here is to feeling better about ourselves w/o other peoples BS!

These are good times to do a lot of daydreaming and imagining what your best job would be. It worked for me and I'm happier now with my new career.

Congrats on your Feature Day! I'm sorry to hear about the job....but from experience sometimes when you get that rotten lemon....you can end up making some kick ass lemonade with it!

It obviously was time for a change...I think you are now on the right path and everything is going to be just fine. :)

Sounds like the universe (or whatever you want to call it) is looking out for you and got you out of a situation that was less than you deserve. I bet if you keep feeling good about things, something even better will come your way. Sounds super new-agey, I know, but it's always worked for me. Good luck! Have an extra margarita for me!

Congrats ma'am!

On your SITS day, on your weight loss (I have a lifelong challenge with my weight, I so completely sympathize).

And especially, congratulations on feeling liberated for escaping a toxic job and seeing it as an opportunity for peace and contentment. You are very brave and very strong, and I'm thinking really good thoughts for you really hard.

Getting laid off FEELS like getting fired and the end result is the same. Happened to me 10 days before Christmas a year ago and I still don't feel totally better - SO now that SITS and karma caused me to cross your path, I hope to follow your yoga/weight loss path to health and wellness.

You are taking your lay off well!

I know exactly how you feel. I was laid off last fall after 17 years working as a biomedical engineer, and I was hurt and scared, and... excited. So I'm totally changing careers (to special education), I just started a blog, and I'm writing a novel. Maybe I just needed a little push to do what I really wanted to do? Maybe you did, too. Good luck!

Good luck in starting your own business. I've been laid off twice and each time the next job I found was way better than the one I left.

That blows, but glad you've got an upbeat take on it. Who knows, this could be the making of you! Then you'll actually have to thank the Duck for all that spanking.

Belated Happy Sits day :-)
