Donald Trump Spanked Me

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

That was the most interesting way I could verbalize the fact that I have been fired from my job after TEN YEARS. I just pictured Donald Trump saying "you're fired" and then running after me with a large paddle.

Gross.

Anyways... I guess I should say "laid off" but the above was more interesting.

Unfortunately, I did not get the position I interviewed for last week (I had mentioned that I'd keep ya'll updated on the status). That's ok though... there are a HUGE list of pros and a very small list of cons in my life right now, so I know that technically I'm very lucky, very blessed, and any other way you could want to verbalize that I should not be moping around feeling sorry for myself.

The good thing is that some of our ducks lined up in a nice little row and we should be ok for a little bit while I search for something else... and that I no longer have to deal with the toxicity that came with the position I had in that company.

I'm going to try and start my own cleaning service (I'm great at cleaning other people's houses, even though I royally suck at cleaning my own) and Russell has been getting more and more side jobs doing his handyman/household repair thing... so I know we're going to be ok!

I'm actually pretty happy right now, is that weird?

Did You Miss Me?

I have been MIA lately, both from my blog and from a lot of my family. My absence is due entirely to stress, depression, anxiety and fear.

I am going to break the cardinal rule of blogging and talk about my work... negatively.

The way I see it is like this: If I get fired, it can only be a good thing... at least, at that point, I might be able to collect unemployment and then I'll have some steady pay coming in.

I've worked for a small company for the last 10 years. At one point, we were pulling in very good numbers... close to $100,000 a month. Those were good times and I reaped a lot of the benefits, so no complaints there.

Since the economy has tanked, our numbers have gone from $100,000 to $20,000. Instead of lowering my hours and managing the finances wisely, my boss decided to pile on my overtime and increase my responsibilities 10 fold. He then promptly stopped paying me on time.

At first, it was me receiving my paychecks in the mail (I work remotely now, since the move from Florida to North Carolina), depositing them, and them bouncing. This only occured once every month or two, so I let it go. Then, he decided he wanted to start cashing my paychecks for me and putting them in my account himself.
Fine.
Except for the fact that it almost never happens on time.
I have been paid in $100 increments for the last few month... BARELY once a week. I suppose my boss knows that I have to wait 10 days from the day paychecks are given out in order to file a complaint with the Department of Labor, because he always manages to pay me *something* before that.

The thing that really angers me is that while I'm not even able to go out to dinner every few months with my husband, my boss is buying Ed Hardy gift packages, taking trips to tropical islands, putting his 3 pure bred dogs in a dog spa for the weekend, and driving an Acura NSX. And all the employees who work for the company are supposedly getting paid on time.

I'm in a shitty situation here, enough said I guess.

I went in for a job interview that I feel really positive about. They narrowed down their search to just a few people, had us fill out a questionnaire, and now I'm just waiting to hear back from them.

Please send me positive vibes, prayers; cross your fingers, toes, eyes, etc. for me. I desperately need to get out of my current situation where I work now.

Lovely

It's the first Saturday in about 6 months that the temperature is above 65 degrees here in Charlotte.
So far the day is actually going by pretty fast... and despite the fact that I've run out of toilet paper here in my store, I'm in a good mood.
Nothing very interesting to report, I suppose. My brother in law still has his job, he's still living with us, we're all still having a blast with each other, and I've recently discovered his hidden talent of hitting high notes at decipals that could make an opera singer's head implode. It's really funny, and seriously amazing. It's too bad we don't know anyone in the record business, we could make a fortune off of him.
I'm still drowning in credit card debt and drooling over things that I should never consider buying... like this: http://gypsy05.com/shop/p_513_Women-Tank-Top-Floral-Burnout-Tank-Top.aspx (by the way, I tried to save the picture so I could just insert it and make things easier, but Gypsy 05's website won't allow it... douchebags)... and this: http://gypsy05.com/shop/p_142_Women-Tank-Top-Nectar-Tank.aspx... and this: http://gypsy05.com/shop/p_384_Women-Tank-Top-Burnout-Tank.aspx . The one for $48 is not going to break my bank or anything, but if I combined all of these, I could pay off a quarter of one credit card. :::::sigh::::: It's just not as fun paying off the debt as it is spending all your cash on frivolous things that won't look good on you in 2 years.

I am finding, however, that while some of Urban Outfitter's clothes are totally hideous, I enjoy a good percentage of their shirts, and they are WAY cheaper than Gypsy 05.

Breakdown...

Well, I had somewhat of a break-down today. Luckily, I have my awesome friend, Drea, to be there for me. She seriously sat there and listened to me bitch and complain and cry hysterically for like an hour and said absolutely nothing... just listened. It was so sweet and I'm so lucky to have a friend like her.

She is the best friend EVER.

I'm just feeling so hopeless lately. I know it has a lot to do with my brother in law moving in with us, and the stress that I feel in regards to that. But it's also the feeling that internally, there is something wrong with me.

I'm sure there are plenty of people out there with irregular periods... but this whole "not ovulating" situation is really starting to weigh heavily on my shoulders.

As if that wasn't enough, I'm also stressed out about money. I have such a headache.

On a more positive note, today I received some of the birthday gifts I ordered for Russell. I'm pretty excited, they actually looked really nice. There are still many more to come, but just getting these was kind of refreshing. Getting stuff in the mail is always fun! Plus, I love when our UPS guy delivers... he wears the craziest things. It's about 30 degrees outside, so it's definitely cold, but I'm wearing a long sleeve t-shirt, thick black sweat pants, and a heavy jacket and I'm fine. The UPS guy that delivers here came in wearing a beanie with a hat over it, a neck warmer/guard, two jackets over his UPS shirt, and a thick pair of pants with what I can only assume were at least two pairs of socks under his boots. He's also not very nice... he is the least sociable person I've come into contact with up here... so that kind of makes it even more funny.

As far as TTC goes, I really have nothing interesting to report. But then again, I usually don't... I'm wondering if I should just make my blog a daily journal type adventure as opposed to the chronicle of me attempting to get pregnant. I think it might be a bit more amusing that way.

If I decide to do that, I can regal my readers (well, *reader* for now) with awesome stories of my day as opposed to just "I'm not pregnant / I am pregnant / I haven't ovulated," etc.

I think I'll do it!
